Frequently asked questions about Partance
What people ask before leaving.
Yes. Notebooks, stops, attached tickets, map, suitcase, reminders, photos, widget, share cards and PDF export are free, with no ads and no account.
Yes. Notebooks, stops, notes and attached tickets are stored on your iPhone and stay readable offline, including the “Today” screen. Only map backgrounds, place search and route calculation need a connection; offline, you can keep a place's name as typed and pick its time zone by hand.
Each stop is written in the local time of its place. A Paris 10:00 → New York 12:25 flight keeps both local times, shows the actual duration and the day shift (+1, −1). Daylight saving and the international date line are taken into account.
In the stop itself: a PDF or an image (screenshot, QR code). The file is copied into the notebook, stays readable in airplane mode and opens with one tap from “Today”, or by asking Siri “Show my ticket”.
Nothing until you turn them on in Settings. Then: “Departure in 1 h” before each transport (30 min, 1 h, 2 h or 3 h), “Tomorrow: day 3 in Sintra” the evening before, and a word on the morning of day one. They are notifications scheduled on the iPhone, at the times of the place you'll be.
Nothing until you ask it to sort them. Then each photo taken during the trip joins the day it was taken (local date, then nearest place). They stay in your library: the notebook only keeps a reference. Limited access to selected photos works too.
Only on the “Today” screen, while using the app, to tell you how far your next stop is. Nowhere else, and never in the background.
There are no shared notebooks: it lives on your iPhone and nobody else can edit it. You can send a share card, an image of the trip or of a day, or the whole notebook as a PDF (cover, one page per day, Memories page, photos optional).
No. Partance syncs nothing through iCloud and doesn't use Game Center. So your notebooks don't follow you from one device to another, unless you restore a backup of your iPhone.
Yes: the next stop on the Home Screen (small or medium) or on the Lock Screen. From “Today”, you can also follow it as a Live Activity, Dynamic Island included.
Yes. Settings → Sounds and haptics: two separate switches. The iPhone's silent switch mutes the sounds too, and your music keeps playing over them.
iPhone, from iOS 17. The app is in English and French.
Settings → Data → “Erase my data”: trips, stops, tickets and packing lists are deleted from the iPhone, and reminders removed. Deleting a trip, a day or a stop also deletes its ticket files.
